A Look Inside the world

My name’s Matthew but my friends call me MowserI’ve lived in Tasmania, Australia my entire life. I love this magical place. I also love hiking and travel.

I created this site to share my love of, not only Tasmania and the hiking it has to offer, but also of the various adventures I’ve been on around the world with my wife and four kids. I’m also going to try to tell you a bit about the gear required to complete my adventures. If you can’t get to these places yourself then I hope this site provides you with some inspiration for what the world, and especially Tasmania has to offer – It really is an incredible place! Enjoy!

Mt Patrick – May 14, 2018

Mt Patrick – May 14, 2018

With all the roadworks on the Midlands Highway, I had been making my regular drive to Hobart a bit more scenic by driving south via Highland Lakes Road. On this midweek trip, I figured I had enough time to make a quick jaunt up Mt Patrick beside Arthur's Lake (and...

Tower Hills (East and West Towers)

Tower Hills (East and West Towers)

I had been thinking about the 'two towers' for some time and I must say, with some trepidation. Mates had done the peaks previously and didn't describe them favourably. By all accounts, getting out to the West Tower was a scrub bash in an area that didn't particularly...

Mt Saddleback

Mt Saddleback

To my great satisfaction, 2019 was shaping up to be a year of Abelling. With winter fast approaching I was keen to get a few more out of the way before the cold came and daylight savings ended. So, Woolza and I found a Thursday evening available and headed out...
